Faithful Navigator

The Navigator is responsible for the welfare of the Assembly. He presides over Assembly meetings, acts as an ex-officio member of all committees, appoints a membership and programming director, convenes officers for a monthly meeting, and ensures all necessary reports are submitted to the State and Supreme Council. He should also be aware of the Assembly’s financial status and ensure that his signature appears on all checks drawn. The Navigator is a member of the Advisory Board.

Faithful Friar

The Friar (chaplain) is the spiritual advisor of the Assembly. He is expected to make a report at Assembly meetings on religious matters. The Navigator appoints a priest in accordance with any rules established by the bishop of the diocese to serve as Assembly Friar (chaplain). Faithful Captain

The Captain is second in command. He assists the Navigator with Assembly affairs and fulfills all duties assigned to him by the Navigator. Should the Navigator be absent from an Assembly meeting, the Captain will preside. He is chairman of the Assembly’s retention committee and also a member of the Advisory Board.

Faithful Pilot

The Pilot is the ‘watchdog’ for all Assembly property and degree paraphernalia, except the property of the Comptroller, Purser and Scribe. He is also responsible for setting up the Assembly chambers for meetings.

Faithful Admiral

The Admiral* has a variety of responsibilities. Primarily, he assists the Navigator and the Captain in the execution of their duties and oversees the Assembly in both their absences. He is charged with strengthening the members’ interests in Assembly activities. The Admiral is chairman of the admission committee. *This position is usually held by the Past Faithful Navigator

Faithful Comptroller

The Comptroller is an elected position in the Fourth Degree. His main area of responsibility is maintaining all financial and membership records. He alone collects and receives all moneys from all sources, including annual dues from Assembly members. He also handles supply orders for the Assembly officers and members, filing the Report of Officers, and submitting all membership transactions to the Supreme Council. Scribe

Faithful Scribe

The Scribe is similar to a court reporter or a secretary. He is responsible for maintaining a true record of all actions of the Assembly and its correspondence. A Recorder’s Minute Book (#1403) is available from the Knights of Columbus Supply Department for keeping a record of meetings. A copy of the last meeting's minutes is reviewed by the executive at a meeting prior to the Business meeting.

Faithful Purser

The Purser is responsible for the safekeeping and maintaining of records regarding all Assembly funds and accounts. The Comptroller turns over all monies collected to the Purser and receives a receipt for same. The Purser is responsible for depositing all money into the Assembly’s accounts and provides the certificate of such monies to the Navigator. He is also responsible for payment of all expenses through a warrant signed by the F.N. and Comptroller.

The board of trustees consists of three members elected by the Assembly and the Navigator who serves as chairman of the board. They oversee the work of the Comptroller and Purser, and with the Captain, serve on the Assembly’s retention committee. During Assembly elections, only the three-year trustee is voted on, with the others moving up to become two and one-year trustees, respectively.

Color Corps Commander

The Guard Commander is appointed by the Faithful Navigator to organize and lead the Color Corps for the Assembly, and is responsible for the training and deployment of the guard. The F.N. may appoint one or more Alternate Commander(s) to assist the Guard Commander.
